Bottled water consumption has boomed in most countries in the last 20 or 30 years and many people have turned their back on tap water as a result, mainly due to concerns over possible health risks with the chemicals used in water supplies. But there has always been a section of the population who don’t believe that bottled water is any healthier than tap water, and that the health message has been spun by the big marketing budgets of the major bottled water companies. There are also some health experts who claim that tap water is healthier because of the fluoride. They claim the fluoride is needed to keep your teeth and gums healthy.

More recently there’s also been a concern for many people who are worried about the environmental impact of plastic water bottles. No doubt this debate between tap water drinkers and bottled water drinkers will continue to rage over the next few years. Maybe the best option for all right now is to drink both tap water and bottled water.
