The sequel to The Sisterhood of Traveling Pants is an adaptation of the fourth novel of the Sisterhood series, Forever in Blue: Fourth Summer of the Sisterhood. The four real life friends of the first edition of the movie, Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera, Blake Lively and Alexis Bledel are all retained in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants-2 movie. The journey with adulthood has the end point, that began in the first movie is continued in the second as well with characters Tibby Tomko-Rollins, Lena Kaligaris, Carmen Lowell and Bridget Vreeland.
In spite of each of the four friends embarking on four different paths leading to their respective colleges, they still manage to keep in touch with each other by sharing all the experiences that created a landmark in their lives. They continue to do so with the same humor and honesty. Quite surprisingly, the friendship between these four lovely characters is strengthened as each of them discovers their individual strengths, weaknesses, fears, capacities and talents. They realize the greatness and uniqueness of their friendship and learn to value it more.
Several changes take place in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants-2 movie compared to its predecessor. Viewers will learn that Bridget returns to her soccer camp as a coach. It is revealed in the beginning that Lena and Kostas have been going out for quite sometime until Lena decided to put an end to their relationship. Tibby and McBrian think of Bailey quite often and thus began to grow closer. Eventually the two of them end up dating. Carmens mother has married again to a man called David. All the four girls were off to different colleges with Lena being awarded a scholarship at Rhode Island School of Design, which she gladly accepted. Tibby decided to major in film at NYU, Bridget joined the soccer team of Brown University and Carmen had been admitted to Yale University.
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants-2 movie has failed to win over as many fans as the first movie did. The critics have received it with mixed opinions. The first part of this sequel was very refreshing and had a great plot. However this has gone stale in the second movie that has its own share of clichs.
